Who is Venus Lane?
It's me! The maker of this site! You can call me Venus because I don't want to share my real name. Thanks!

What is Venus Lane?
IRL, it's a street I used to drive past when I would commute to college. I've had the phrase stuck in my head for almost a decade and have been waiting to use it for the right creative project all that time!
Here, it's a personal site for me to share the things I love and collect, and different projects that I'm working on. Expect to see a mix of art, zines, writing, webpages, and the like.

Why is Venus Lane?
Because I hate what the internet has become in the last 15 or so years. Contemporary social media is revolting, capitalist slop and I can feel it rotting away my creativity and joy the longer I interact with it.
I crave the internet of my prepubescence: webpages full of crunchy graphics, hodpodged together with naivety and love; no bloated, derivative frameworks; no goddamn AI. I can't go back to what I had, but I can imitate it.

ETC...
